A 60-year-old homeless man was charged with theft after a security camera recorded a person who appears to be him stealing expensive sunglasses from a Waikiki store twice in two months.

Thomas Mullen was charged Thursday night with second-degree theft and third-degree theft. His bail was set at $15,000.

Police said a man entered a Waikiki store July 9 and took a $380 pair of sunglasses. The same man entered the store on Aug. 24 and took a $220 pair of sunglasses.

Police said Mullen was identified in a photographic lineup as the suspect in both cases. He was arrested in downtown about 3:10 p.m. Thursday.
