Police are searching for a robbery and kidnapping suspect who allegedly tied a 29-year-old woman to a metal pole at her apartment complex.

The incident occurred at 4:25 Monday morning in the Honolulu area, police said. Detectives did not release a description of the suspect.

Police said the suspect grabbed the woman after she returned home and was walking up the stairs to her apartment. The suspect took the woman to the back of the apartment complex, tied her up and demanded money, police said.  When the victim said she didn’t have any, the suspect allegedly ran off with personal property.
