Former Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann raised more than $231,000 in the last quarter of 2011 in his race for Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District.

Hannemann has raised more than $538,000 for the race overall, his campaign reported today.

"Our fund-raising reflects a cross-section of support from throughout Hawaii, from small business owners and labor, diverse professions, and grassroots supporters in every county," Hannemann said in a statement.

Hannemann is running for Hawaii 2nd Congressional District representing rural Oahu and the neighbor islands. Also in the race is City Councilwoman Tulsi Gabbard, former Office of Hawaiian Affairs chief advocate Esther Kiaaina, Big Island attorney Bob Marx and Honolulu attorney Rafael del Castillo.

Gabbard reported raising $203,000 for the last quarter and $352,000 for the campaign.

Candidates are seeking to succeed U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono, who is running for U.S. Senate.
