United Airlines will begin nonstop service between Honolulu and Dulles International Airport in Wash., D.C. in June.

The daily year-round service to begin June 7 will use Boeing 767-400 aircraft and is the only nonstop service between the two points, United said in a statement.

The announcement is "outstanding news for Hawaii’s visitor industry," and "will provide much-needed access from the Hawaiian Islands to the East Coast," said Mike McCartney, president and CEO of the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

The new daily route will provide "an estimated $135 million in visitor spending and $14 million in tax revenue to Hawai’i’s economy annually," he said in a statement.
