Woman killed in murder-suicide was ill
Police were investigating an apparent murder-suicide Sunday morning involving a husband and wife in Hawaii Kai.
The husband, 81, apparently shot his wife, 79, and then turned the gun on himself at a home shortly before 11 a.m., police said.
The woman was suffering from a long-term illness, police said.
The incident was reported by a family member who heard gunshots, police said.
The family is not releasing statements, police said.
Adult and child hurt in traffic accident
A woman and boy were injured Sunday in a Windward Oahu traffic accident that closed part of Kahekili Highway.
Paramedics were dispatched at 2:53 p.m. and took a 39-year-old woman in critical condition to the Queen’s Medical Center. They also transported a 10-year-old boy in serious condition to Queen’s.
No other details were immediately available.
Victim kidnapped and sexually assaulted
Police are looking for a man in his 30s who kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 33-year-old woman in an unnamed Waikiki hotel just before midnight Saturday.
The woman told police the man held her against her will and sexually assaulted her at 11:38 p.m. Saturday.
Police are seeking the suspect on suspicion of kidnapping and first-degree sexual assault charges.
