Oregon blasts Hawaii to take series lead
Kyle Garlick’s two-run homer highlighted an eight-run fourth inning to help Oregon defeat Hawaii 14-5 on Sunday afternoon at Les Murakami Stadium.
Aaron Jones went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs and J.J. Altobelli had three hits and drove in two runs for the Ducks (2-1), who can win the season-opening series with a victory on Monday.
Junior Jon Flinn was tagged for seven runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings to take the loss for the Rainbows (1-2).
Conner George started at first base and had the first two hits of his UH career, scoring twice.
Freshman left-hander Scott Squier is expected to start the finale on Monday at 1:05.
