Aliviado, Arakawa lead Rainbows to 2-1 victory
Kaeo Aliviado hit a tie-breaking home run with two outs in the sixth inning and Hawaii held on to defeat Wichita State 2-1 on Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium.
Jarrett Arakawa (1-0) allowed one run over 7 2/3 innings to earn the win and Brent Harrison recorded the final four outs to earn his first save.
Hawaii (8-3) extended its winning streak to seven games despite only five hits.
Mitch Mormann (1-2) allowed two runs on four hits over six innings to take the loss for the Shockers (5-5).
The four-game series continues on Saturday with a day game at 1:05.
