Charges are pending against a 47-year-old homeless man who is accused of beating a woman with a metal pipe and a wooden club during a disagreement over a cell phone charger last month in Kaneohe.

Police said the suspect and the victim, a 43-year-old woman, are acquaintances. Police said the woman asked to charge her cell phone in the suspect’s van on Feb. 12. When the 47-year-old man asked the woman to leave, the woman picked up her cell phone but told him she couldn’t find her charger. Police said the suspect then grabbed a metal pipe and wooden club and hit the victim.

Kaneohe police officers located the man Monday and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree assault.
