City gets $520,000 grant for housing of homeless people with disabilities
Honolulu is the recipient of more than a half-million dollars in federal grants to help it provide housing for homeless people with disabilities.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded the funds as part of a program that helps provide for transitional housing, job training, mental health care and other services.
The city said Tuesday the grant totals nearly $520,000.
The city received another $23,000 from the department to update the local Homeless Management Information System.
