Firefighters rescued a man today after a boulder apparently rolled over him during a hike on East Oahu.

The man, who is in his 30s, was climbing up the trail when the boulder became dislodged and rolled over his leg, injuring his left arm and leg, said Honolulu Fire Department Capt. James Todd.

Firefighters used a helicopter to lift the man off the trail and brought him in stable condition to a park across from Sea Life Park, where he was transferred to paramedics.

Todd said the man was hiking from Makapuu to Mariner’s Ridge in a party of six when he was injured about 10:15 a.m.
