Blue Angels to present shows in September
The Navy’s Blue Angels flight demonstration team will return to Hawaii for performances Sept. 29-30 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, the Navy said.
It will be their fifth Hawaii visit since 1995. Other appearances were in 2004, 2007 and 2010.
The 2012 Blue Angels season commemorates the War of 1812 and celebrates 100 years of Marine Corps aviation.
The Blue Angel F/A-18s and Marine Corps "Fat Albert" C-130T will be performing as part of the Kaneohe Bay Airshow, which this year will also include aerobatic performances by Jacquie B, Mike Wiskus, the Red Bull BO-105 helicopter and the Navy Leap Frogs, as well as a new addition, the Flash Fire Jet Truck.

Talk will cover loss of beehives around the U.S.
The state Department of Agriculture is sponsoring a public meeting on bees Friday at Maui Community College.
The meeting will feature Michael Andree of the federally funded Bee Informed Partnership, which helps determine management practices that reduce bee colony losses around the country.
Andree is visiting Hawaii to collect data on bees.
Lauren Rusert, a state Department of Agriculture apiary program technician, will discuss the local bee situation.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Maui Community College’s Kalama Building, Room 103.

State personnel will process IDs on Lanai in April
Lanai residents can have their state identification card applications processed on April 14.
State ID personnel will be at the Lanai Senior Center from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to process applications.
The state ID fee costs $15; it’s $10 for people 65 and older.
Applicants with completed applications and the certified documents needed for processing will receive priority.
