Kauai program to be held on Frances Frazier’s book

The Kauai County Committee on the Status of Women will hold a special program next week on Frances Frazier’s memoir, “Hali’a of Hawai’i: A Legacy of Language” as part of Women’s History Month.

Frazier’s memoir recounts her rediscovery of the Hawaiian language and passion for translating Hawaiian documents, especially those relating to land deeds and rights people of Hawaiian heritage.

Frazier, who turns 98 in July, will be represented at the event by her daughter Stephanie Frazier, publisher Dawn Kawahara and others.

The event will be held on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Lihue Civic Center, Mo’ikeha Building, rooms 2A and B.
