A police officer trying to break up a fight used pepper spray to subdue one of two combatants in front of an Atkinson Drive apartment building late Thursday morning.

The male officer warned one of the two men several times not to attack the other man outside 475 Atkinson. Instead, the man, 57, shoved the officer in the chest "in an aggressive manner" and was attempting to repeat the action when the officer sprayed him, police said.

The suspect was then taken to the ground and arrested for harassment of a police officer and terroristic threatening, police said.

No one was injured.
