Ricketts throws no-hitter as UH splits with San Jose State
Stephanie Ricketts’ no-hitter helped the University of Hawaii softball team earn a split in today’s Western Athletic Conference doubleheader with San Jose State at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
San Jose State’s Breanna Lopez hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning of the first game and the Spartans rallied to a 4-2 upset of the 17th-ranked Rainbow Wahine.
UH (26-3, 2-1 WAC) then claimed the series win with an 8-0 victory as Ricketts threw a six-inning no-hitter and Kelly Majam broke the program’s career home run record.
Ricketts struck out five in recording the fifth no-hitter of her career. Majam hit a solo home run to center field in the second inning to move past Kate Robinson with the 45th homer of her career.
