Stubborn Maui brush fire 75 percent contained

    Maui firefighters are battling a brushfire near the Kahului Airport that has burned several acres near a runway used by small planes.

Maui firefighters had a stubborn, 20-acre brush fire 75 percent contained Sunday afternoon, officials said.

The fire off of Stable Road near Kahului Airport was reported Saturday morning. The cause was undetermined, officials said.

One person was evacuated Saturday and some structures sustained roof damage from flying embers, officials said.
