» Five people were killed and four injured Sunday in a head-on collision on Kula Highway in Upcountry Maui. All of those killed — Maui residents 19 and 20 years old — were passengers in a Dodge Neon that crossed the center line and hit a Suzuki Aerio carrying three Pukalani residents.

» State legislators gave final approval Friday to a $200 million settlement between the state and the Office of Hawaiian Affairs over OHA’s share of former crown lands since 1978. OHA will receive 10 land parcels near the Kakaako waterfront.
