Skeletal remains found at Kailua construction site

A contractor uncovered skeletal remains at a construction site in Kailua this afternoon.

Police said the discovery was made at 3:45 p.m. today.

An archaeologist was called to the scene and determined the remains appeared to be more than 50 years old, police said.

The case was referred to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Police classified the case as an unattended death.
