A 28-year-old Waikiki man, accused of breaking a finger of his live-in girlfriend last month, is now facing a drug charge after police found a bag of marijuana  in their apartment while responding to another confrontation Monday night.

Police were called to the couple’s Liliuokalani Street apartment Monday after the suspect allegedly grabbed his girlfriend’s neck so tightly that she passed out.

The 38-year-old woman told officers of a previously unreported March 16 assault where the suspect allegedly fractured one of her fingers, police said.

The suspect is facing charges of second-degree assault for the earlier attack, while charges of abuse of a household member and third-degree promotion of detrimental drug are pending, according to police.
