Police arrested three people today, including one man who eluded police for several hours, after they allegedly burglarized a home in Kaneohe.

Police said officers were sent to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Mauli Place about 12:35 p.m. and saw three people inside the vehicle.

One man, 37, who was a passenger in the vehicle, got out and bolted into a wooded area, police said.

Officers determined a home on the street had been burglarized and arrested a 23-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman who stayed in the vehicle on suspicion of burglary.

The vehicle was also seized, pending a search warrant.

Police said the man who ran off was found by officers about 3:50 p.m. on William Henry Road, where he was hiding in a tree.

He was arrested for investigation of burglary, two drug counts, possession of a dangerous weapon, and resisting arrest.
