Kalakaua at Moanalua hoops camp set
Dennis Agena and Mike Taylor will headline the second annual Kalakaua at Moanalua Basketball Camp, which will be held June 4-7 at Moanalua Gym.
The camp will be divided into two 4-hour sessions. Youngsters ages 7-11 will be from 8 a.m. to noon and those 12-17 will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Agena, who runs the Kalakaua Clinic, and Taylor, a former Punahou girls coach, will cover all areas of basketball, including ball control drills, point/wing/baseline moves, shooting form, passing and defensive positioning.

CycleSwap promotes going green
Island Triathlon & Bike is holding its 12th IT&B CycleSwap Saturday at St. Mark’s Church parking lot on Kapahulu Avenue.
The event is a “green” service promoting the recycling of used bikes and equipment through sales. Admission is $5 — free for those entered in the April 29 Haleiwa Metric Ride.
The CycleSwap runs from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Hawaii Bicycling League, Wiki Bikes and St. Mark’s Church.

Kawano to coach at boxing qualifier
Honolulu’s Bruce Kawano has been named as an assistant coach for Team USA at next month’s Women’s World Boxing Championships in Qinhuangdao, China.
Kawano is currently at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., helping the team prepare for the May 4-20 event, which is an Olympic qualifier.
Amateur smoker at Palolo
Amateur boxers from Oahu, Maui, Molokai and Hawaii Island are scheduled to compete at an event Saturday at Palolo District Park Gym.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is a fundraiser for Amateur Boxing of Hawaii. Admission is $12. For information, go to amateurboxingofhawaii.com.
Kayak event in Pearl Harbor
Hui Wa’a Kaukahi, Hawaii’s oldest recreational kayak club, is sponsoring a paddle event on Pearl Harbor, starting at 8:45 a.m. on June 2.
Participants will paddle from Rainbow Bay Marina to Middle Loch and back. There are restrictions and participants must register by May 31.
