Lusitana Street reopened after crews finish water main repairs

Honolulu Board of Water Supply crews reopened Lusitana Street between Concordia Street and San Antonio Avenue after completing repairs on the road and a water main that broke in two places.

A 6-inch pipe broke at 1817 Lusitana Street in the Punchbowl area at  about 4 a.m. Thursday. About 45 homes are without water. Crews set up a spigot on a fire hydrant that would provide water for affected residents.

Crews were finishing  repairs on the main break at 1817 Lusitana when they noticed another leak nearby. Crews fixed that leak and restored water service at about 8:45 p.m.

The road reopened after crews finished repairs on the roadway.
