Medical center in Puna seeks its own ER
The 3-year-old Puna Community Medical Center wants to set up an emergency room to serve the fast-growing Hawaii island district.
The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reports the concept is in its early stages and that construction could be three years away. But it would have a huge impact on residents who are 30 minutes or more away from the nearest emergency room in Hilo.
