Former Hawaii football players Royce Pollard and Liko Satele have been invited to compete in NFL rookie minicamps.
Pollard, a wide receiver, will join the New York Jets this weekend.
Satele, who played defensive end last season, will work out at linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals in two weeks.
Both initially joined the Warriors as walk-ons.
In 2011, Pollard caught 71 passes and led the Warriors with 1,011 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
He has spent the past three months training under former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia, who serves as Pollard’s representative.
Pollard received several inquiries, including from the Canadian Football League, before deciding to accept the Jets’ invitation.
Satele was a defensive end for the Warriors, playing in all 13 games in 2011 while amassing three sacks and three quarterback hurries.
An Arizona scout was evaluating another UH player on a highlight video when he noticed Satele dropping back into coverage. The scout met with Satele on March 4, the day before UH’s pro day in Carson, Calif. Satele was asked to run linebacker drills at the pro day.
Satele’s father is Alvis Satele, a former UH linebacker. His brother, Brashton, is a linebacker with the Dallas Cowboys. If both stick, they would become the first UH brothers in the NFL since the Noga brothers in the 1980s.
"We’re going for that," Liko Satele said.
