Three Hawaii girls who were visiting their grandparents in Tucson, Ariz., were reportedly sexually assaulted by an intruder in the grandparents’ home.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the girls, ages 6, 8 and 10, told deputies they did not know the man, in his 20s, who entered the bedroom at about 2 a.m. Monday.
The extent of the sexual assaults was not immediately determined. A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department said Arizona law does not have degrees of sexual assault, as does Hawaii.
She had no further details Monday on where in Hawaii the girls live.
The sheriff’s department said the girls and their mother were visiting their grandparents in the Rincon District on East Mountain Gate Place.
Detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit are investigating and issued a brief description of the assailant. One of the victims helped detectives develop a composite sketch.
