Ferragamo unveils fine jewelry lines
Salvatore Ferragamo introduced its fine jewelry collection and summer women’s collection Sunday at the Royal Hawaiian Center boutique during a private event to benefit Friends of the University of Hawai’i Cancer Center.
The Salvatore Ferragamo Jewels collection comprises three primary lines:
The Futuristic Line: Inspired by the label created for Ferragamo in 1930 by the Futurist painter Lucio Venna, it features ridged bracelets, earrings and pendants in silver with spider-web graphics. Pieces start at $200.
The Vara Line: The buckle used by Maison Ferragamo footwear is transferred onto rigid bracelets and silver cabochon rings to which the scroll-saw technique has been applied.
The Gancino Line: With its use of yellow and pink gold, diamonds and semiprecious stones, these gems honor the hook that was born as a closure for purses and bags.
Salvatore Ferragamo is open daily at Royal Hawaiian Center from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Call 971-4267.

Beaders debut with trunk show
In the spirit of "you have to start sometime," a cooperative of beading hobbyists is holding a debut trunk show Sunday.
Like most crafters, these beaders — all editors with the Honolulu Star-Advertiser — started with small, personal projects that have grown into a collection of one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets, earrings, bookmarks and jewelry sets in semiprecious stones, glass and novelty beads.
The pre-Mother’s Day sale runs 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coffee Talk, 3601 Waialae Ave., in Kaimuki.
