Underwater camera returned to surfer who lost it a year ago
After a year in the ocean, an underwater camera has made its way back to the Hawaii surfer who lost it.
Army chaplain Donald Eubank was diving at a popular Honolulu spot last month when he spotted the camera covered in sand and mud in about 25 feet of water.
Eubank tells Hawaii News Now he saw 51 video clips of a surfer and was determined to get the undamaged camera back to him. A Craigslist ad and Facebook postings soon led to Air Force veteran Dennis Curry who never thought he’d see the camera again.
He borrowed the camera from a friend and lost it a year ago when a strong wave hit. Curry says he’s grateful Eubank went out of his way to return the camera.
