UH regents approve Apple as chancellor for Manoa campus
The University of Hawaii Board of Regents voted 13-0 this afternoon to approve Tom Apple as the next chancellor for UH’s flagship Manoa campus.
Apple, provost at the University of Delaware, will succeed Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw in June.
Apple will be paid $439,008 a year.
Apple was one of four mainland educators who were invited to tour the Manoa campus last month as part of the search for its next chancellor and won the recommendation of his potential new boss, UH?President M.R.C. Greenwood.
Regents also approved the appointment of Erika Lacro as chancellor of Honolulu Community College. Lacro will be paid $146,328 a year and be given a three-year term.
