BYU-Hawaii women reach NCAA II semis
The top-ranked Brigham Young-Hawaii women’s tennis team beat No. 7 Columbus State (Ga.) 5-0 on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II national tournament at Louisville, Ky.
The Seasiders’ Sherry Liu and Tanja Rebholz won singles matches, and Yuan Jia/Marietta Tuionetoa, Annie Hwang/Liu and Marika Kobayashi/Rebholz won in doubles.
BYU-Hawaii (28-0) will play No. 6 Abilene Christian (Texas) in today’s semifinals.
In an NCAA II men’s quarterfinal also at Louisville, Hawaii Pacific lost to No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic State (Ga.) 5-1.
In a women’s match in Honolulu, No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic State beat Hawaii Pacific 5-1.
