Neighbors helped police and beachgoers capture two men who allegedly took a bags from a Waimanalo beach Friday afternoon.
Police said the victims — a 58-year-old woman, a 60-year-old man, and a 24-year-old man — saw the suspects take their bags from the beach while they were in the water at about 2:20 p.m. Friday.
The victims chased after the thieves, but lost them in a residential area. Residents in the neighborhood pointed out the house they saw the two men run into.
Police arrived and arrested a 25-year-old man at his Kauholokahiki Street home for investigation of three counts of theft and a 34-year-old Waimanalo man for investigation of three counts of theft and three warrants.
Police said recovered almost all of the missing property.
