Alleged shoplifter is detained, stabs himself with scissors
A 50-year-old man critically injured himself with a pair of scissors while being detained for shoplifting in Kaimuki, authorities said.
Police said the man stabbed himself with the scissors.
Paramedics responded to a Waialae Avenue address shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday and took the man to the hospital, an Emergency Medical Services supervisor said.
