A 25-year-old Wai­ma­nalo man returned to rob two men in St. Louis Heights on Monday more than five hours after robbing them in an apparent drug deal gone bad, police said.

The Waimanalo man was arrested today in connection with two home invasion robberies at gunpoint earlier this week in St. Louis Heights.

Police tracked down the man using information from one of the victims who said he recognized the masked gunman by his voice and physical features, police said. 

Officers arrested the man at his Kumuhau Street home at 8:20 a.m. today for investigation of three counts of first-degree robbery, one count of kidnapping, two counts of first-degree burglary, three firearm offenses, and five contempt warrants. 

Police said two men dressed in dark clothes and wearing ski masks forced their way into the St. Louis Heights residence at 3:36 a.m. Monday. One of the men had a handgun and demanded money from the two male victims, ages 27 and 19.

Both robbers fled with money before police were notified, police said. Officers responded and found the victims were not hurt.

About 9 a.m. the same day, the Waimanalo man returned wearing a ski mask and forced his way into the home, police said. He wielded a handgun, demanded money, and again fled with cash, police said. 

The second robber is unknown and remains at large. 

Police said the Waimanalo man is an acquaintance of the victims and at least one robbery apparently was related to a failed drug deal.
