Colt Brennan released by CFL team
Former University of Hawaii star quarterback Colt Brennan was released Monday by the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League, Brennan’s agent, Bruce Tollner, confirmed to the Star-Advertiser.
Brennan was one of four rookies competing for the backup quarterback position.
Brennan was a Heisman Trophy finalist who led the Warriors to an unbeaten 2007 regular season (12-0) and a berth in the Sugar Bowl, a Bowl Championship Series game.
He was drafted in the sixth round by the Washington Redskins in 2008 and was released in 2010.
