A 43-year-old Fremont, Calif., woman suffered a fractured left leg at Maui Zipline, located behind Maui Tropical Plantation in Wai­kapu.

Fire officials said she hurt herself as she came down the zip line and landed on a 40-foot-high tower.

She was airlifted from the tower to a field near Hono­apii­lani Highway, then taken by ambulance to Maui Memorial Medical Center.

The incident was reported at 10:22 a.m. Monday. The woman had a leg injury requiring advanced life support care and was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition, the county said in a news release.
