A 60-year-old Pearl City man was arrested for allegedly abusing his 81-year-old dad on Father’s Day after the two had argued, Honolulu police said.

Police said the two were arguing at their home Sunday afternoon and the son slammed the fence gate as he was leaving. The gate hit the older man, scratching his arm. A 59-year-old man intervened and the suspect threw a car part, hitting the father on the head.

The suspect was arrested following the 2:30 p.m. incident on suspicion of abuse of a household member.
