All three Hawaii golfers advanced to the Round of 32 in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championships in Neshanic Station, N.J. on Wednesday.
Moanalua alum Kristina Merkle defeated Faith Hardison of Jamesville, N.C., 1 up; Punahou freshman-to-be Allisen Corpuz beat Kelsey Vines of San Antonio, Texas, 2 up, and former Maui resident Kyung Kim defeated Ellen Mueller of Bartlesville, Okla., 1 up.
In today’s Round of 32 matches, Merkle will play Thailand’s Pailin Ruttanasupagid; Corpuz will face Taiwan’s Chieh Peng; and Kim will take on Chinese Taipei’s Yi Chen Liu.
