Police arrested a man after an altercation with a security guard at a downtown office building early Wednesday morning.

Poilice said that the suspect, a 20-year-old Makiki man, confronted the security guard, 44, as she was doing her rounds shortly after 2 a.m.

When the security guard tried to take out her radio to call dispatch about the confrontation, the man grabbed the radio, injuring her wrist, police said. He then threw the radio onto the street and fled the scene.

Officers located the suspect a short time later on Richards Street and arrested him for investigation of robbery.
