Makiki woman chases teen burglary suspect out of house

A 25-year-old woman awoke early Monday morning to find a 14-year-old boy in her Makiki bedroom peeking under a blanket, police said.

The woman chased the suspect out of her house and called police at 5:30 a.m.

The suspect ran across Poki Street and hid in bushes in a parking lot, police said.

The woman ran after the suspect and found some of her property.

About an hour later, police apprehended the teenager on Wilder Avenue and Artesian Street and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree burglary.
