Federal transportation grants to fix parking lots at Haleakala, taxiway at airport
Hawaii will receive $3.75 million in two federal grants to refurbish the parking lot at Haleakala National Park and help repair a Honolulu Airport taxiway, according to Hawaii’s congressional delegation.
The U.S. Department of Transportation grants include $2 million to rehabilitate and repave the asphalt pavement and to improve disabled accessibility for seven parking lots along Haleakala Highway in the summit area of Haleakala National Park on Maui, according to Sen. Daniel K. Inouye’s office.
A second DOT grant will fund a $1.75 million design study for the repair of taxiway Z at the airport.
