Information sought in road-rage incident
Hawaii County police are looking for witnesses to a drivers’ confrontation Wednesday in Kailua-Kona.
Police said a 42-year-old woman driving a maroon Jeep honked at a man driving a blue sedan after he allegedly cut her off while leaving the Kona Commons shopping center on Makala Boulevard, police said.
The 31-year-old Kailua-Kona man and his passenger, his 30-year-old wife, got out of the sedan and confronted the woman. Police said the woman suffered a small puncture wound on her forehead, and the Jeep’s passenger door was damaged.
Police arrested the man on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and criminal property damage. His wife was arrested on suspicion of assault and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. The Jeep driver was arrested on suspicion of assault.
No one required medical treatment, police said.

Man badly hurt when hit by vehicle
A man was critically injured Thursday night when he was struck by a vehicle in Waimalu.
The accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Kamehameha Highway near Neal Blaisdell Park.
An Emergency Medical Services supervisor said the man, who appeared to be in his 30s, was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.
Police closed the town-bound lanes of Kamehameha Highway at Kuleana Road to investigate.
