Man charged with attempted murder in highway crash
A 24-year-old Hauula man was charged with first-degree attempted-murder Monday following an East Oahu traffic accident Saturday in which three people were injured.
Justin N. Bush also was charged with three counts of second-degree attempted murder; one count of first-degree assault; two counts of first-degree attempted assault; drunken driving; and other charges, police said. The suspect was still being held Monday at the Alapai police station cellblock. Bail was set at $200,000.
The collision occurred about 10:15 p.m. on Kalanianaole Highway near Kaai Street, closed westbound lanes on the highway for nearly five hours.
He was arrested several blocks away at Waieli Street and Kalanianaole Highway.
Police are investigating reports that two parties involved in the crash had been arguing at another location before the accident.
Paramedics transported a 21-year-old man to a hospital in critical condition. A woman and another man, both reportedly in their 20s, were also taken to the hospital but their conditions were not disclosed.

Speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash, according to police.
