Hawaii flags flying at half-staff to honor temple shooting victims

Gov. Neil Abercrombie has ordered all national and Hawaii flags at state offices and agencies to be flown at half-staff to mark respect for the fatal shootings at a Wisconsin Sikh temple.

Abercrombie said the order is at the direction of President Barack Obama. The flags will fly at half-staff from Monday until sunset on Friday. Hawaii National Guard flags are also to fly at half-staff.

On Sunday, a gunman opened fire at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wis., killing six people and critically injuring three others. The gunman was shot to death by police. Authorities are calling the massacre an act of domestic terrorism against the Sikhs.
