A 44-year-old homeless man is being held on $50,000 bail in connection with the theft of copper from a Sand Island business Monday morning.

Mitchell Langsi was arrested at about 1:45 a.m. Monday after witnesses called police after hearing noises coming from the roof a Sand Island Access Road building. Witnesses also said they saw the two men standing next to a shopping cart full of what appeared to be copper wiring.

Langsi was arrested shortly thereafter following a brief chase on foot.
