For the second time today, Board of Water Supply personnel have completed repairs of a broken water main in Kaneohe.

The initial break, which cut off water to approximately 50 customers, was reported around 1:30  a.m. and was repaired around 1 p.m.

Affected residents were able to enjoy restored water service for all of an hour before another section of the same line broke while crews were refilling the trench.

BWS workers repaired the line a second time and water service was restored at 8:45 p.m.

Road repairs were completed at about 9:50 p.m.

The breaks occurred in the area of 45-519 Keaahala Road. Police closed the mauka-bound lane on Keaahala Road and makai-bound lane was contraflowed to allow one open lane in each direction.

A water wagon was stationed at Kapolei Playground on Keaahala Road.
