Myron B. Thompson Academy, an online charter school, is marking its 10th anniversary Friday with a fundraiser and celebration of its move to the Laniakea YWCA building.

The school moved this summer from its Kakaako headquarters to the historic YWCA building, where it occupies most of the second and third floors. The facility includes administrative and faculty offices, classrooms and a resource library. The academy has about 450 students, from kindergarten through high school, who mostly work from home via computer.

The fundraiser runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and tickets are $25. Proceeds will help cover the cost of SAT exams for graduating students. The event features light pupus, a silent auction and entertainment by Kapena, Brother Noland and Thompson Academy students. Call 441-8000 for more information.
