The company that distributes JFC Furikake Seto Fumi is recalling 1.7 ounce-size jars because the product contains undeclared egg yolk

Mislabeled jars of 1.7 ounce JFC Furikake-Seto Fumi are being recalled because they could pose a threat to people with food allergies.

The products with UPC/Bar code 0 11152 41464 are packaged in a clear glass jar with a plastic lid. Lot code/Best before date of 04.05.2014 is stamped on top of the lid.

Los Angeles-based JFC International Inc. is recalling the product because it contains undeclared egg yolk, soybeans and wheat. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs, soybeans and wheat, run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

No illnesses or adverse events relating to this product have been reported to date.

The company recalled the furikake after discovering it was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of eggs, soybeans and wheat. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a mislabeling during packaging processes.

Consumers who have purchased JFC Furikake-Seto Fumi can return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800-633-1004 during business hours.
