Problems with Hawaiian Electric Co.’s underground cable cut electricity to ten commercial buildings in the Chinatown area early this morning.

Darren Pai, HECO spokesman, said the outage occurred at 2:30 a.m. and affected customers in the Kukui Street, Mauanakea Street  and Vineyard Boulevard area. Full power was restored by 4:30 a.m.
