Man arrested following Ala Moana area robbery

Police arrested a 21-year-old man after he allegedly robbed an Ala Moana area retail business Monday afternoon.

The man allegedly left the business about 12:30 p.m. with concealed merchandise for which he had not paid, police said. When confronted while leaving the store, the suspect assaulted a store employee, police said.

The man was located and arrested on Keeaumoku Street about 3 p.m. Monday, police said. The man, of no permanent address, is being held pending a charge of second-degree robbery.
