BYUH volleyball falls to No. 1 team
Lauren Hagemeyer had 15 kills and three blocks as Brigham Young-Hawaii battled but fell to the nation’s No. 1 Division II team, Concordia-St. Paul, during the Wildwood Lodge Volleyball Classic in St. Paul, Minn., on Friday.
BYUH (1-1) had set point in each of the first two sets but lost 27-25, 26-24, 25-21. Earlier, Stella Chen had 15 kills to lift the Seasiders to a 25-18, 25-15, 25-19 win over Hillsdale.
HPU holds off Sonoma State in 5 sets
Sanoe Recca had 17 kills and Pihanakealoha Kea had 40 assists as Hawaii Pacific beat Sonoma State 26-24, 25-21, 14-25, 22-25, 15-10 on Friday in the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Invitational. On Thursday, Kim Spring had 15 kills to lead Chaminade to a 25-23, 25-20, 17-25, 25-19 victory over Montana State Billings.
UH-Hilo loses to Nebraska-Kearney
Nebraska-Kearney beat Hawaii-Hilo 25-14, 25-9, 17-25, 25-12 in a women’s volleyball match in Hilo. Bria Morgan had 16 kills for the Vulcans (0-2).
