Forecasters say the weather over the islands should improve through Monday as a storm system that brought locally heavy showers and muggy conditions Saturday slowly moves away from the state.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a gradual return of trade winds and for sunnier skies through the upcoming work week.

The Lyon Arboretum recorded 2.3 inches. Poamoho saw 2.1 inches; 1.5 inches fell in Makaha and Moanalua saw 1.2 inches.
Nearly 3 inches fell in Puu Kukui in upcountry and leeward Maui. Hawaii island saw 2.6 inches in Kawainui Stream and 1.2 inches in Kamuela.
