Honolulu police recovered a cell phone and arrested a suspect who allegedly stole a cell phone left under a towel while a 29-year-old man took a shower at the Kakaako shoreline recreation area Sunday.

Police said the man discovered the phone missing at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday and used his GPS tracking system on his iPad to locate the phone.

Patrol officers were able to find a 43-year-old man with the victim’s cell phone at about 12:25 p.m., police said. Officers arrested the suspect for investigation of detaining stolen property and second-degree theft.
